Humphrey scholar Judge Aimee Mendoza who is bound for the US this Fall 2015 was the speaker during the 6th Humphrey Voices Series organized and hosted by the Hubert Humphrey Alumni Association (Philippines). Her presentation that was held last July 29, 2015, Wednesday, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the PAEF office was entitled “12 Years after Its Passage: Examining the Supreme Court Decisions on R.A. 9208 (Anti-Human Trafficking Law).” Judge Mendoza and the audience had stimulating discussions about various issues on human trafficking in persons and the challenges that the Philippines and other countries face to combat human trafficking. Those in attendance include Humphrey alumni Judge Philip Aguinaldo, Atty. Benedicto Bacani, Atty. Arnel Jose S. Bañas, Dean Emerito Enginco, Dr. Serlie Jamias, Atty. Linda Malenab-Hornilla, Ms. Suh Putli Candao, PAEF Executive Director Esmeralda Cunanan and staff, and CNN Philippines New and Current Affairs Program host, Atty. Karen Jimeno.
Judge Aimee Mendoza will pursue a 10-month non-degree Humphrey fellowship program on Trafficking in Persons, Policy, and Prevention at the University of Minnesota beginning August 3, 2015.
