US Fulbright Agricultural Visiting Scholar-Researcher Dr. Khin Mar Cho is recognized as this year’s Outstanding Leader Award in Community Development by the Association of Agricultural Technology in Southeast Asia (AATSEA) Faculty of Agricultural Technology, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The award is conferred upon Dr. Cho for her contributions to community economic development through direct food marketing and her assessment on community behavioral changes in food and nutrition education. She is an International Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Specialist at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, International Programs Cornell University, USA. During her three-month stint as a visiting US Fulbright-agriculture scholar, Dr. Cho is in affiliated with Central Luzon State University where she lectures on “Modernizing Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries: Modernizing Agricultural Extension and Advisory Systems”. She will also conduct workshops for officers and researchers of the Agriculture Training Institute of the Department of Agriculture.
Dr. Cho will receive the award during the Fifth International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development 2016 (the 5th ICIST 2016) with the theme “Water conservation, Biological Diversity, Food and Agriculture” on November 26-27, 2016 in Myanmar. Dr. Cho will present her work experience during the event.
