A group of 11 secondary school teachers from the public and private schools who teach English, Science, Social Studies, and Math joined the information session about the International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) that was held at the PAEF office Monday, March 14, 2016. ILEP is an exchange program supported by the US Department of State and administered in the US by IREX and by the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF also the Fulbright Commission in the Philippines) in our country. It provides professional development opportunity to high school teachers designed to enhance their expertise in their teaching discipline; equip them with a deeper understanding of best practices in teaching methods, lesson planning, and instructional technology; and to prepare successful ILEP grantees to serve as teacher leaders who, upon returning home, will apply and share their experience and skills with their peers and students.
From among the 11 high school teachers who attended, two are from high schools located outside Metro Manila, namely the City of Angeles and Cavite. The attendees spent an engaging hour with PAEF Executive Director, Dr. Cunanan who gave tips and suggestions on how to strengthen their ILEP applications.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their complete applications and final requirements by March 28, 2016.
