Abdul Yusoph Lao Batao is an undergraduate  student pursuing Bachelor of Science in International Relations at the Mindanao State University – Marawi City, Philippines. He is a determined and multifaceted young leader who has found passion in discourse, public service, and arts. Currently affiliated with Rostrum (Mindanao State University Debate Varsity), he has elevated discourses about relevant issues both in the local and the national scene. He is known to be courageous, fearless, and vocal in challenging and defying norms that have set student rights and public welfare aside. His burning desire to serve  allowed him to front-line community activities and university preparatory reviews for students through  the Student League for Academic Advancement and Progress (SLAAP). His experiences have made him an avid advocate of sustainable peace through volunteerism, public discourse, human rights protection, and educational equity. As a Fulbright scholar, Yusoph is excited to rediscover the world through the new knowledge, best practices, and helpful skills that he will learn along the way. He hopes to positively influence his community by reechoing everything he will learn after. Finally, he also wants to use this rare opportunity to champion the distinct and rich Meranaw-Filipino culture and history across the world.
