Carlos is a mechanical engineer and a proud instructor at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is part of the pioneer team building up the university's own BS Mechanical Engineering program.

To Carlos, the Philippines has immense potential in technological research and innovation, especially in space. Through his masters, he seeks to explore novel flexible robotic elements, paving the way for enhancements in space tech design, local manufacturing capability and more advanced aspirations for the country beyond the planet's atmosphere.

Before his current role, Carlos worked with DOST's Advanced Manufacturing Center(AMCen) program to promote and promulgate 3D printing use throughout the Philippines' key sectors. He also obtained his bachelors from the University of the Philippines Diliman with a distinction of summa cum laude.
