Bio / Write-up:

Jay is an exceptional educator at his alma mater, Daraga National High School, teaching 7th Grade for seven years. Graduated as the first magna cum laude from Daraga Community College and earned a Complete Academic Requirements for a Master's in Biology Education from Bicol University Graduate School. He was also one of the regional topnotchers in the 2013 Licensure Examination for Teachers.

Beyond teaching, Jay is an engaged member of the SPTA and serves as Grade Level Chairperson. His involvement extends beyond the classroom, taking on diverse responsibilities ranging from participant and training facilitator to curriculum and LAC shareable writer, content editor, and demonstration teacher at different levels—school, division, and regional. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping Jay as a catalyst for change, empowering him to lead and inspire both his colleagues and students toward continuous improvement.

Jay advocates for inclusive and equitable education for all and believes that “NO LEARNERS SHOULD BE LEFT BEHIND”. With the Fulbright DAI Program, he sees an opportunity to broaden his horizons by learning from and collaborating with other experts in the field of education. Outside professional commitments, Jay embraces his love for nature, reflecting his holistic approach to life and education.
