Jemuel S. Doctolero
Jemuel S. Doctolero is an Assistant Professor and a Faculty Researcher of the College of Fisheries and Freshwater Aquaculture Center, Central Luzon State University. He earned his BS Fisheries degree as a BFAR scholar and MS Aquaculture degree as a DOST scholar both from Central Luzon State University. As a faculty member, he devotes his time in teaching and honing young minds to become future fisheries professionals and emerging leaders of the fisheries industry. His research engagements also paved the way for him to generate a number of relevant research findings that were published in various scientific journals and presented in national and international conferences. His research interests are mainly under the topics of aquaculture and fish nutrition.
As a Fulbright Scholar, Jemuel will pursue his PhD in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences at Purdue University, Indiana. He plans to engage his research works in enhancing the nutritional quality of aquaculture species and improving their resistance against diseases by performing dietary interventions and application of advanced approaches to provide safe, healthy and nutritious fisheries products for human consumption. He also aspires to establish networks in the United States in order to forge academic and research partnerships in the future and be the bridge of opportunities for his students.
Jemuel is a choir member of their church and during his spare time, he enjoys cooking, watching movies/series, listening to music and travelling.
