- Education: Joey finished his undergraduate degree in Biology from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2010, cum laude; Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines Manila in 2015 and Master in Public Management - major in Health Systems and Development from the Development Academy of the Philippines in 2017.
- Professional Experience: Joey was a Doctor to the Barrio for 2 years deployed in Mercedes, Camarines Norte and Rapu-Rapu, Albay. He then proceeded to work as a consultant for various public health projects supporting the Department of Health, PhilHealth and other NGOs in various technical areas, such as child injury prevention, antimicrobial resistance, benefit package development, health systems development and tuberculosis. He is currently a Public-Private Mix Specialist for Interactive Research and Development, a global health delivery organization supporting the National TB Program of the Philippines. Joey is also a faculty of Far Eastern University Manila and currently sits as Secretary-General of the Philippine Society of Public Health Physicians.
