Ma. Theresa Jonna A. Atienza-Parcon

Ma. Theresa Jonna A. Atienza-Parcon is a University Researcher at the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (BIOTECH), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). She will be pursuing PhD in Agricultural Sciences at Southern Illinois University (SIU).

Jonna obtained her BS Biology and MS Microbiology at UPLB, both as a scholar of the Department of Science and Technology- Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI). Her research involves synthesis, characterization, and utilization of nanomaterials, nanobiosensors and immuno-based detection systems for agricultural and food safety applications. Her long-term goal is to help the agricultural sector through the aid of nanobiotechnology.

She loves giving back to the community through medical missions, gift-giving, and technical assistance. She’s also an avid traveler and K-drama fan.
