Mariel C. Benigno
Mariel C. Benigno is a native of Ifugao and is currently an instructor II in the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences at Cavite State University Naic. She will be attending Louisiana State University to pursue a doctorate in nutrition and food science. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries from Central Luzon State University in Nueva Ecija and a Master of Science in Fisheries from Pukyong National University in Busan, South Korea. During her bachelor's and master's studies, she focused on tilapia stress responses and biofloc production. Previously, she worked as an aquaculture technician in the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences- Cordillera Administrative Region. Currently, in addition to teaching, she is a collaborator in several research projects and serves as extension coordinator and project leader of her department for the promotion of post-harvest fisheries technologies in the coastal communities of Cavite. In her free time, she enjoys playing instruments or listening to music and reading.
