Bio / Write-up:

Arrow Paquera is an undergraduate student at De La Salle University-Manila majoring in Psychology with a minor in Data Science. His advocacies focus on empowering everyday people to become scientific thinkers.

Arrow’s passion for data-driven scientific efforts was cultivated during his time as a scholar at the Philippine Science High School, where he built a solid foundation in research. Since then, he has shifted focus from the natural sciences to the social sciences inspired by his vested interest in the beautifully complex nature of people. Currently, he works as a research assistant in the DLSU Psychology department contributing to ongoing research efforts in the field of Cognitive Psychology.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Arrow is also a dedicated writer. He began as a feature writer and now serves as a poetry staffer for Malate Literary Folio, DLSU’s official literary organization. Beyond journalism, he is also a volunteer under DLSU’s social development arm (COSCA) where he has been involved in several social formation initiatives and in the production of a documentary entitled, Pamanang Butil that shed light on the struggles of Filipino farmers from Laur, Nueva Ecija.

As a Fulbright scholar, Arrow is eager to immerse himself in diverse cultural experiences, driven by a deep love for people and their stories. He believes that every individual has a narrative worth sharing and that science should listen to these stories to drive positive change.
