Razel Starita
Razel is a visual artist and industrial designer taking up Master of Fine Arts in Applied Crafts and Design at Willamette University’s Pacific Northwest College of Art. He was a former product designer at Community Crafts Association of the Philippines, a fair-trade organization championing Filipino handicrafts. This eventually led him to explore and utilize locally sourced natural fibers for his independent art practice. As a Fulbright Scholar, Razel will study on the applications of traditional crafts in our modern lives. Upon completing his studies, he aims to continue innovating his craft to uplift local artisan communities.
Razel draws his inspirations from the various living forms around him. Outside his studio, he likes to go on nature trips like mountain biking and birdwatching.
