Sheryl N. Sierra, Assistant Professor I at Cavite State University (CvSU) is a graduate of Seoul National University (SNU), Republic of Korea with MS Crop Science and Biotechnology major in Crop Molecular Breeding. She worked on Genetic Diversity of Rice Landraces Collected in Cordillera Region, Philippines. She was a recipient of Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS) in SNU in 2011. She took up BS Biology major in Genetics at the University of the Philippines Los BaƱos and was a recipient of the undergraduate intern scholarship at Asian Vegetable Research and Development Center (AVRDC), Shanhua, Tainan, Taiwan in 2003 where she worked on Inheritance of Whitefly-Transmitted Geminivirus in Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum). She used to work as an Assistant Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) where she handled researches focused on the development, validation and deployment of elite breeding lines with high yield potential and heat tolerance in rice.
