BIO NARRATIVE

IONELL JAY TEROGO, LPT, PhD is the Director of the Office of Curriculum and Instruction of the University of San Jose - Recoletos (USJ-R), Cebu City, Philippines. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in his baccalaureate degree and completed both his master’s and doctorate degrees in English Language Education. While establishing his content and research interests in his specialization, he pioneers in pedagogy and educational technology as evidenced in his excellent teacher evaluations and professional achievements thus his leadership in the new office dedicated to the university’s curricular and instructional needs. His recent works dwell around handling undergraduate and graduate courses in Professional Education, auditing course syllabi and instructional plans to the curricular standards and the university’s vision-mission, promoting process-oriented teacher professional development and learning communities, and planning programs that advance holistic international education. He is also immersed in assisting pre-service and in-service teachers, students, and school heads in communities through facilitating trainings and teambuilding activities, holding review sessions, hosting events and games, and working on materials development. Being an advocate of Global Citizenship Education and Augustinian Recollect educational experiences, Ionell aims in his PhD in Education Studies - Higher Education and Student Affairs from Ohio State University to design transformative outcome-based initiatives in his home university and country around the ideals of “Caritas et Scientia” (love and knowledge).
