Biography: 
 
John Paul Obillos Dela Rosa is currently a PhD Candidate taking Doctor of Philosophy in Linguistics with Specialization in Applied Linguistics at the Philippine Normal University, Manila. He is a graduate of Master of Arts in Education Major in English at Tarlac State University where he also earned his bachelor’s degree in secondary education with English as his specialization. He presently teaches in the Senior High School level at Tarlac National High School-Annex, San Miguel, Tarlac City, passionately teaching his students to develop their love for research writing and English language arts. 
 
He is the son of Manuel Dela Rosa (+) and Teresita Obillos-Dela Rosa and the youngest sibling of Arianne Dela Rosa-Perez and Ma. Ada Dela Rosa-Dela Cruz who are also public school teachers. He grew up in barangay Sapang Tagalog, City of Tarlac. John Paul is always proud of his Kapampangan and Ilonggo roots. 
 
Since 2015, he has been publishing research articles in various national and international peer-reviewed research journals such as the Philippine Journal of Linguistics (PJL) and the Indonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics (IJAL), to name a few. He has also served as a member of the peer review panel of other research journals such as the International Journal of Education and Development using ICT (IJEDICT) and the International Journal of Language Education and Applied Linguistics (IJLEAL). 
 
He has always been interested towards research writing and the teaching of English as a second language in the Philippines.
